Pool passes are good for the entire season and also include admission into the YMCA Ellen Shapiro Natatorium at Wooster High School through March 31st, 2025.
- Passes will not be refunded.
- Passes may not be used by anyone other than the person for which the pass was purchased. Borrowed passes will be invalidated.
- Children UNDER 3 years old are admitted FREE but must be accompanied by a paying or pass holding adult.
- Lost passes may be replaced at a cost of $8 per pass.
- A family pass may be purchased for up to 4 family members living in the same household. At least 1, but not more than 2 adults may be on a family pass. Children include those 21 and under living in the same household. Additional children of the same household may purchase a pass for $25/resident and $32/nonresident. Family babysitters may not be included on the pool pass unless they reside in the household. If they are over the age of 21 they will be counted as one of the adults.
- Scholarship Rate Passes are available for $20 for children 17 & under who's primary residence is within Wooster city limits and can provide proof of financial assistance (Caresource card, free/reduced lunch letter, letter from local agency, etc.). Scholarship Rate passes are only available for purchase at the Wooster Community Center.
- It is the policy of the City of Wooster Recreation Department that children 10 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a responsible individual 14 years of age or older. At age 11 years old children can stay alone at the pools.
City Pool Pass Holder Benefits:
- Unlimited Admission.
- Season pool pass holders will be admitted prior to daily admission paying customers.
- FREEDLANDER NOON LAP SWIM- Adult & Senior pool pass holders will be given admission from 11:15a.m. to 12:00p.m. weekdays for lap swimming, aquaerobics and sunbathing.
- CHRISTMAS RUN LAP SWIM- Adult & Senior pool pass holders will be given admission from 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. weekdays for lap swimming and sunbathing.
YMCA memberships from the Wooster YMCA location only will be honored for entry into City of Wooster aquatic facilities. This is only good for members of the Wooster YMCA and no other local, regional or national YMCA memberships.

Resident status is defined as anyone who resides within/or owns property within the corporation limits of the City of Wooster or has an adult family member who resides in the household and presently works within the corporation limits of the City of Wooster. Proof of residency or employment may be required.
If you do not have a City of Wooster Pool Pass or Wooster YMCA membership, daily admission fees must be paid for anyone entering City of Wooster Aquatics facilities.

Passes will also be available for purchase at Freedlander Pool, Christmas Run Pool and Knights Field Sprayground when the facilities open for the season.
Pools/sprayground will be cleared for 20 minutes if there is thunder and for 30 minutes after each lightning strike. Time does not add, it starts over when one of these instances occurs.
No refunds or rainchecks will be given.
General Rules
- No running on the pool deck
- No hanging on the lap swim lane ropes
- Do not swim through the lanes
- No playing in the lanes
- No rough housing / throwing / dunking
- Only 2 steps can be taken before jumping from the side into the pool
- Enter pool feet first - unless going off diving boards
- No diving / flips / spins off the side of the pool
- Splash only in middle of the pool only
- If an individual is wearing approved flotation devices they may not: go down slides , use diving boards , be in the water alone
- When playing at the basketball hoops no dunking or playing rough
- No hanging on starter blocks
- Kids may not play on or under stairs
- No spitting water into or out of the pool
- No standing on tables or benches
- No glass containers or alcoholic beverages may be brought into any aquatic facility
- Snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and hard and soft shell coolers are permitted into the facility
- All children who are not toilet trained must wear aqua diapers
- Swimwear must be appropriate
- Food and drink must be confined at concession stand area only
- No animals are allowed unless they are service animals
Diving Boards/Diving Wells
- Only one person on the board at a time
- One bounce on the board before going into the water
- No back flips
- No handstands
- Lines form at bottom of stairs for the diving boards
- No goggles or flotation devices may be worn off the diving boards
- No diving off the side of the pool
- On the low board swim to the closest wall
- On the high dive swim to the south wall past the noodles to the ladder
Slides
- Must go down slide feet first laying on back
- No catching kids on slide
- No hanging on the ropes
- No swimming in the slide area
- One person on the stairs at a time
- Life jackets or other flotation devices may not be worn down the slide
Freedlander Pool
Built in 1967 - Major Benefactor - Freedlander Family, notably Herman Freedlander. Considered one of the best pools in the state of Ohio at that time. 1969 - Held first Freedlander Swim meet (2010 marked 42nd annual meet). One of the few remaining long course swim meets in Ohio.
