Pool Passes
Pool Passes

Pool passes are good for the entire season and also include admission into the YMCA Ellen Shapiro Natatorium at Wooster High School. 

Wooster YMCA members will be admitted into the City pools with their membership card. This is only good for members of the Wooster YMCA and no other local, regional or national YMCA memberships.

Scholarship Passes

Scholarship passes are available for children, under the age of 18 years old, who:

  • Live within the City of Wooster limits (NOTE: A Wooster mailing address does not necessarily mean you live within the City of Wooster limits) AND
  • Income qualify (Free/reduced lunch, CareSource, etc...)

If you do not have a City of Wooster Pool Pass or Wooster YMCA membership, daily admission fees must be paid for anyone entering City of Wooster Aquatics facilities. This includes Knights Field Sprayground.

What are the daily admission fees for the city pools?

Adult: $7.00 

Child: $5.00

Where can I purchase a pool pass?
  • Wooster Community Center located at 241 S Bever St. Wooster
  • Buehler’s Milltown or Buehler’s Towne Market

Pool passes purchased at Wooster Community Center will be printed on site. Pool passes purchased at the Buehler’s locations can be picked up at the pool specified by the customer.

What qualifies one as a resident of Wooster?

If one lives within the corporation limits of Wooster or an adult living in one's household works within the corporation limits of Wooster, he/she is considered a resident.

If I have a Wooster address, am I considered a resident?

Not necessarily, a Wooster mailing address does not mean you reside within the corporate limits of the city.

Christmas Run Pool

Built in 1974 by the Freedlander family, this pool features:

  • Depth of  2 ½’ - 10’
  • 2 Flume water slides
  • 2 Low diving boards
  • Wading pool with a spray feature

Freedlander Pool

  • Built in 1967 - Major Benefactor - Freedlander Family, notably Herman Freedlander
  • Considered one of the best pools in the state of Ohio at that time.
  • 1969 - Held first Freedlander Swim meet (2010 marks 42nd annual meet)
  • One of the few remaining long course swim meets in Ohio.

This pool features:

  • Main pool 165' x 75' with 40'x 40' diving well
  • Wading pool 100' x 25'
  • Main pool depth = 3 ½' - 12'
  • Diving well
  • 2 - 1m Diving boards
  • 1 - 3m Diving board
  • Climbing wall in diving well
  • Frog slide in wading pool
  • 10 Long course racing lanes
  • 20 Short course racing lanes

Knights Field Sprayground

  • Built in 1968
  • Fundraising effort by Alice and Don Noble
  • 2007 - Underused pool converted into the new sprayground
  • After the conversion attendance grew 14 fold over the old pool
