Oak Hill Road and Milltown Road Improvements

This project involves the reconstruction of Oak Hill Road (north of Oldman Road) and W. Milltown Road (between Oak Hill Road and Commerce Parkway), including the construction of a roundabout at the intersection.  Construction is in progress and should be completed by Thanksgiving.  The work is being done by Fechko Excavating, LLC.

Palmer Street Waterline Replacement

This project will replace the waterline on Palmer Street, between Bowman Street and Wayne Avenue.  Construction is in progress and is being done by Wenger Excavating, Inc.  The work should be completed by Memorial Day.  

Christmas Run Blvd and Skylark Avenue Sanitary Sewer Replacement

This project involves the replacement of the sanitary sewers on Christmas Run Blvd (north of Brookside Drive) and Skylark Avenue (between Christmas Run Blvd and Monterey Street).  Construction is in progress and is being done by Underground Utilities, Inc.  All work should be completed by Memorial Day.

Oak Hill Road Curb Ramp Replacements

Approximately 26 curb ramps will be replaced on Oak Hill Road between W. Liberty Street and W. Wayne Avenue to bring them into compliance with ADA and ODOT requirements. Smith Paving and Excavating, Inc. was awarded the construction contract and work is to be completed by the end of May.

2024 Wooster Streets Resurfacing and WAY-VAR Wooster Streets FY24 Resurfacing

These two paving projects, both being done by Melway Paving Co., will include the resurfacing of Palmer Street (north of Bowman Street), Oak Hill Road (south of Wayne Avenue, Robin Hood Drive, Friar Tuck Circle, Allandale Drive, Fairview Circle, Little John Lane, Timken Road, and of portions of Sherwood Drive and W. Henry Street.  It will also include concrete replacements on W. Liberty Street between W. Bowman Street and Oak Hill Road.  The work is scheduled to begin in May and should be completed by the end of the summer.

Downtown Streetscape Phase 4

This project includes the continued renewal of the downtown streetscape by improving the south side of W. Liberty Street from PNC Bank to Walnut Street and the east side of Walnut Street from W. Liberty Street to Beaver Alley.  The construction contract has been awarded to Brennstuhl Construction, Inc.  Construction is scheduled to take place this summer.

McKinley Street Waterline Extension

This project involves the extension of a waterline on McKinley Street (south of Bowman Street) as part of a private development project.  Construction is expected to be done by the end of April.  

ODOT SR 3/83 Dix Expressway Reconstruction

This ODOT-sponsored project includes the reconstruction of the Dix Expressway.  Construction is being done by Kokosing Construction Company.  Updates on ramp closures and lane restrictions can be found on the ODOT OHGO website.  Starting the week of April 22nd, one of the southbound lanes will be closed from Portage Road to the south for repair work and paving.  Questions can be directed to the ODOT District 3 office at 419-281-0513.  

Omni Fiber City-Wide Fiber Optic Build

Omni Fiber is building a fiber optic network to offer residential and commercial fiber optic services.  The fiber will be run both overhead on existing poles and underground in conduit, within the City right-of-way and along utility easements in certain subdivisions.  Additional information is available at the following site:  https://www.omnifiber.com/construction/.  

Brightspeed City-Wide Fiber Optic Build

Brightspeed is building a fiber optic network to offer residential and commercial fiber optic services.  The fiber will be run both mostly overhead on existing poles and underground in conduit, within the City right-of-way and along utility easements in certain subdivisions.  Questions can be directed to the contractor doing the work, Utilities One, at 903-744-7736.

MCTV City-Wide Fiber Optic Build

MCTV has completed the 100% fiber upgrade to its above-ground network. Over the next several months, MCTV will be completing the upgrade to fiber in the neighborhoods with underground utilities. These projects will be both within backyard easements (where utilities already exist) and along the public street rights of way.  Questions can be directed to MCTV at 330-833-4134 or MCTVOhio.com.  

Enbridge Energy Ohio Oak Hill & Hamilton Area Replacement

Enbridge Energy Ohio is in the process of a construction project to replace gas lines along Oak Hill Road (between Parkview Drive and Beechwood Avenue) and the area east of that toward Christmas Run Park.  Questions can be directed to Enbridge Energy Ohio at 330-664-2519.
