Chief Matthew Fisher
Chief Matthew Fisher was hired by the Wooster Police Department on August 2nd 1998. Prior to working for the department, he earned a B.A. in Business Economics from The College of Wooster and completed The University of Akron Police Academy. Chief Fisher has been involved in various aspects of the department during his career. He was a participant in the Wooster Police Honor Guard from 1999 - 2004 and was a K9 handler (with K9 partner, Ringo) from 2000 - 2007. Chief Fisher has also served as a taser instructor and marijuana tester. A graduate of the 240th session of the FBI National Academy and has a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Tiffin. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College (2006) and Leadership Wooster (2007). Chief Fisher was promoted to Sergeant in 2005 to Lieutenant in 2008, and was promoted to Chief on June 20, 2011.
Assistant Chief Scott Rotolo
Assistant Chief Scott Rotolo was hired December 18, 2000 and received his basic training at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy in London, Ohio. Prior to being hired at the Wooster Police Department, Scott graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology. Additionally, Scott is a graduate of Leadership Wooster in 2009, the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC) in 2010, and the 251st session of the FBI National Academy in 2012.
Scott was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on June 6, 2007, Lieutenant September 19th, 2011, Captain June 17th, 2012 and Assistant Chief of Police on December 10th, 2017. Throughout his career Scott has had the privilege of serving the department and community in many ways. He’s volunteered as a member of the honor guard, collaborated on several neighborhood strengthening projects and has been a Taser instructor. Scott has served on the Leadership Wooster steering committee and is a past Chairman of the CIRCLE Coalition. Presently, he is the Secretary of The Village Network Board of Trustees and the 2nd Vice-President of the Boys and Girls Club of Wooster Board. Scott also serves as the Chairman of the City of Wooster Traffic Commission.
