City of Wooster Secures New Natural Gas Aggregation Rate for 2026–2027
The City of Wooster has officially secured a new rate for its Natural Gas Aggregation Program through IGS Energy, offering eligible residents and small businesses a fixed natural gas rate as the community enters the winter season.
Beginning with the November 2026 billing cycle and continuing through October 2027, participants in the City's aggregation program will receive a fixed rate of $4.40 per MCF, plus applicable taxes.
The program is designed to provide rate stability and make participation simple for eligible customers. Eligible residents and small businesses will be automatically enrolled in the program, with no additional enrollment fees or service disruptions.
While IGS Energy will provide the natural gas supply under the aggregation program, Enbridge Gas Ohio will remain the local utility provider. Customers will continue to receive the same utility service they currently rely on, including line maintenance, meter reading, monthly billing, and budget billing options.
What does this mean for residents?
Customers who participate in the City's aggregation program will receive the fixed rate of $4.40 per MCF during the program period (Nov. ’26 – Oct. ’27). Municipal aggregation aims to leverage the City's collective purchasing power to secure a competitive rate for eligible customers while providing greater price stability.
Residents do not need to take any action to participate. Eligible customers will receive program information by mail and will be enrolled automatically unless they opt out.
Want to opt out?
Community members who do not wish to participate in the City's aggregation rate must opt out by October 1, 2026.
Customers can opt out by:
- Returning the opt-out form included with the information mailed to eligible customers; or
- Contacting IGS Energy directly at 1-877-353-0162.
Customers who opt out will continue to receive natural gas service from Enbridge Gas Ohio but will not participate in the City's aggregation rate.
The City encourages residents and eligible small businesses to review the information they receive by mail and choose what is right for their household or business.
The new aggregation rate will take effect with the November 2026 billing cycle and remain in place through October 2027.
