Wooster Celebrates Independence Day

Independence Day weekend was about more than celebrating our nation's history. It also celebrated the people, partnerships, and community spirit that make Wooster such a special place to call home.

The festivities began Friday evening with a wonderful concert on the Public Square, hosted by Main Street Wooster. On Saturday, residents and visitors enjoyed the Farmers Market, the Ohio Light Opera's Pops Concert on the Square, and family fun throughout the afternoon and evening at Kinney Fields, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the night sky.

On Sunday, we wrapped up the weekend with a reading of the Declaration of Independence by some of Wayne County’s elected officials and a beautiful performance by the Wayne County Historical Society Community Band on the Public Square, providing a fitting finale to an unforgettable celebration.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, organized, and supported these events. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and community spirit made this Independence Day weekend one to remember. We are proud to call Wooster home and grateful to celebrate with such an incredible community.
