Notice: Aggregation Paused, Temporary Return to AEP Ohio Standard Rates

Notice: Temporary Return to AEP Ohio Standard Rates

The City of Wooster, in consultation with Palmer Energy Company, is temporarily suspending its electric aggregation program and returning participants to AEP Ohio's standard utility rate (Price to Compare/Standard Service Offer).

While Wooster’s aggregation program has proudly saved the community over $1.1 million since its inception, current wholesale market conditions mean that private supplier rates are now higher than AEP's upcoming standard rate. To ensure residents and small businesses pay the lowest possible price for electricity, the City is pausing the program until market conditions improve.

No action is required from residents. The City will monitor the market and reintroduce the program when rates become favorable again. An official opt-out letter will be mailed to all eligible participants prior to the launch of any future program. Residents with questions about the electric aggregation program may contact Valerie Bluhm (Palmer Energy) at 419-491-1040.
