Funds
The City of Wooster proposes to utilize the requested funds as follows:
CDBG Allocation Activities
Activity 1: Funding for Viola Startzman Free Clinic: $11,800.
Activity 2: Liberty Street Comprehensive Signaling and Intersection System Upgrades: $67,200
Includes replacement of critical signaling infrastructure for safer vehicle and pedestrian crossings.
Alternative Activity 2: Henry Street and South Street Repaving: $67,200*

CDBG Critical Infrastructure Activities
Activity 1: Liberty Street Comprehensive Signaling and Intersection System Upgrades: $300,000
CDBG Economic Development Funds
Activity 2: North Street Comprehensive Signaling and Intersection System Upgrades: $5,016
Alternative Activity 2: W. Henry Street & South Street Repaving: $5,016*

All proposed and alternative activities would meet the National Objective of benefiting persons of low to moderate income and/or remediation of slum and blight. Applications are due by June 17, 2016. Citizens are encouraged to attend to express their views on the proposed activities. CDBG Allocation funds are appropriated funds for qualified activities, whereas CDBG Critical Infrastructure funds are competitive. In the event the City’s Critical Infrastructure Grant is not funded, the City will not proceed with Activity 2, but rather, would proceed with Alternative Activity 2.
Community Involvement
Special auxiliary aids for handicapped persons are available upon request. At least five (5) days' notice is required prior to a meeting.
