The Wooster Bicycle Unit was utilized at annual events this year including:
- The Memorial Day Parade
- The 4th of July Fireworks celebration
- Bicycle Rodeo
It continues to be an essential tool when used in special events, security details and every day patrol.
With the addition of several new officers to the department, the bicycle unit is in a rebuilding stage and plans on welcoming new officers to its ranks. It is still staffed by Sgt. Bartolic and Ptl. McConnell. The department is looking ahead to assign 1 to 2 officers to the unit sometime in early summer.
The bicycle unit has also changed appearance to a more athletic looking uniform to be more noticeable to the public and comfortable for officer performance.
