3rd - 6th Grade Youth Basketball League

• Players must register & play for the school district where they currently attend school. This is a recreation league, not a travel league.
• Players that attend a private school in Wooster (St. Mary's, Wooster Christian & Montessori) are to register individually as a Wooster student, unless they currently reside in a school district outside of Wooster City School District and can provide proof of residence at the time of registration.

League Dates: January - March

All games will be played on Saturdays between 8am and 5pm at the Gault Recreation Center, Edgewood Middle School, Cornerstone Elementary or another local gym location. 

1st & 2nd Grade Registration Information

Registration Open 10/26/26

• This is a seven week program for youth in the Wooster and surrounding area. There will be three pre-season clinics taking place on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings. Parents have the opportunity to choose either Tuesday or Thursday evening at the time of registration. All registered individuals will be placed on teams and then get to participate in four league games.
• These games will be scheduled on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings regardless of which clinic times you chose, a schedule will be provided to all registered individuals prior to the first games beginning.
• There are no practices after games start. The league consists of 3 on 3 games, 8 1/2 foot baskets, smaller balls and courts, instructional officiating will take place by the program instructors and no score is kept. Girls and boys may be placed on separate teams or together, depending on the number of registrations.

7th & 8th Grade Registration Information

Registration Open 10/26/26

• This program is designed for students not currently on their school basketball team who wish to further develop their skills in an organized setting.
• Registration will need to be done for each individual participant.
• Practices and Games will be announced at a later date, but will start in January
• There will be a tournament following the conclusion of the regular season
• Teams will be created by Wooster Recreation Department after registration has closed.

The Wooster Recreation Department reserves the right to CLOSE registration and put individuals on a waitlist based on totals in each age group at any time before or after the registration deadline. Any individuals added to a roster will be taken from the waitlist in the order they were placed on it. If minimum enrollment is not met in any one age group those registered may be refunded and the program may not be offered in that age group
