Requests for Proposals for the acquisition and development of 230 N. Market Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691, will be received by the Project Manager on behalf of the Wooster Growth Corporation (an Ohio community improvement corporation), at said corporation’s Project Manager’s office, located at Wooster City Hall, 538 N. Market Street, P.O. Box 1128, 44691-7082 until twelve o'clock noon, Friday, August 30, 2019 here in accordance with the specifications on file.
Wooster Growth has contracted for the building demolition and site leveling of the 1.58 acre downtown site to be completed no later than December 6, 2019. It is the intent and purpose of the Wooster Growth Corporation to conduct a fee-simple sale of 230 N. Market Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691 (Wayne County, Ohio Parcel TBD) to a party offering the highest price with the best quality proposal for re-use of the property. Asking price for the property is $650,000.
A variety of options will be considered, including medium or high-density residential development, office, mixed-use retail, a combination thereof, or other uses provided that such development meets the goals of the City of Wooster’s comprehensive plans in addition to zoning standards. Each proposal must contain the full name of every person or company interested in the same, and specify future use(s), planned investment amounts, and project completion dates.

Interested parties are strongly encouraged to attend the Wooster Growth Corporation’s Developer Meeting being held on August 15, 1:00 PM at Wooster City Hall (address above) which will provide an opportunity to share project information and answer questions. Deadline for submissions is noon on Friday, August 30, 2019. Those providing proposals are required to use the forms that are furnished on the application, but are welcome to include additional materials as needed. The right is reserved to reject any and all proposals, and/or alternate unit prices. Wooster Growth will announce its selection of a proposal, with or without conditions, on or about September 15, 2019.
