Note: This meeting immediately follows the CDBG Public Hearing 1 occurring at 12:00pm.

 

Meeting Overview: As part of the City of Wooster's participation in the Community Development Block Grant Program, which has funded multiple infrastructure and service projects throughout the year, this CDIS meeting will bring community stakeholders together in order to help better identify needs and to prioritize projects for future grant funding. Stakeholders for 2017 include, but are not limited to, the Wayne Metropolitan Housing Authority, Wayne County Planning Commission , STEPS at Liberty Center , Main Street Wooster Inc., the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce , the Wayne Economic Development Council, and City of Wooster Divisions (Engineering Department, Building Department, Planning and Zoning, Parks & Recreation, Public Properties Maintenance, Development). This meeting is advertised as open to the public on multiple postings.

2.  Community Needs and Project Planning

     We will share needs and project ideas at this session. We will also share comments from any

     stakeholder who was not able to attend.  While there will be many needs, CDBG funding is geared

     toward addressing three National Objectives: 1) Improving quality of life for low-to-moderate

     income persons, 2.) Removing slum and blight, or 3.) Addressing a critical community need, such

     as accessibility. Stakeholders will examine these concerns in order in an open group discussion.

     -  Needs and Solutions for aiding the Removal of Slum and Blight

     -  Needs and Solutions for aiding Critical Community-wide Concerns
