Wooster Fire DIvision
The primary mission of the Fire Division is the saving of lives, the protection of property from fire, and emergency medical assistance. The mission is accomplished through public education, fire prevention inspections, fire suppression, and emergency medical assistance to victims of a sudden illness or injury. The division is committed to providing the best possible service and protection at the least possible cost.

 

Division Responsibilities
The Wooster Fire Division is the proud provider of Fire and Paramedic Service to over 26,000 permanent residents in an area of 15.6 square miles. We are the only all - paid career department in Wayne County. The fire department employs 42 career firefighters. The department operates from a Central Station on North Market and Station # 2 which is located on East Highland Ave. The fire division has a Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, (3) Captains, (6) Lieutenants, (1) fire inspector and (30) firefighters.

It is the mission of the Wooster Fire Department to provide the highest level of life and provide protection services through aggressive fire control systems, paramedic service, fire prevention, public education and emergency management.


To provide our mission we provide suppression and prevention programs, a pre-hospital care through paramedic service, and effective scene management. The safety of the public is of paramount importance, followed closely by the safety of our firefighters We strive for excellence in everything we do.
