Engineering Division
The City Engineers concentrate on planning, advising, administering, overseeing implementation of and documenting all public works improvements and subdivision developments with the aim of providing these services cost effectively and timely while protecting the public health, safety, and welfare.
Division Responsibilities
The Division provides surveying, mapping, design services and contract administration for municipal public works projects. These activities include roadways, bridges, water, sewer, storm water management and other civil engineering projects funded in the City's Capital Improvement Program, as well as engineering work for most other city departments. This division manages and administers the assessment program for streets, sidewalks, water and sewer construction. All public right of way improvements, privately or publicly constructed, are inspected by this department.
