Bosch Rexroth Retention Project

July 2007

The Bosch Rexroth Corporation closed its manufacutring facility in Wooster on December 31st 2006. Since this scheduled closure, the City Administration and Bosch Rexroth have diligently worked on finding an suitable developer and parcel within the City of Wooster to house the companies remaining research and developement and engineering staff. On July 2nd this hard work paid off, as City Council approved a 10 year 75% abatement of new real and personal property taxes for the companies proposed new building located within the City's Corporation Limits. More then 50 jobs will be retained due to this retention project.
   

Liberty Street Properties

June 2007

 

Liberty Street Properties LLC filed a Community Reinvestment Area application in June 2007 for the renovation and conversion of the "Germania Hall" building located on South Market Street in Downtown Wooster. This property will be completely restored and house a steakhouse on the entire first floor and apartments on the second and third floors.

 

 

   

 

The Coyote Group

April 2007

 

 

The Coyote Group filed a Community Reinvestment Area application in March of 2007 for the renovatio of the "Saal Building" located on South Market St. in Downtown Wooster. This development group will convert the first floor of the property into two retail spaces and the second floor into either one office and one apartment or two offices. Complete rehad of all associated utilties and conservation of the buildings steel facade is all part of the project.

 

 

 

Liberty Street Properties

April 2006

Liberty Street Properties filed a Community Reinvestment Area application in April of 2006 for the renovation and conversion of two properties located on East Liberty Street in Downtown Wooster. The properties will recieve entirely new electrial, HVAC and plumbing throughout the three floors and house new apartments on the second and third floors, with new retail space being created on the first floor. The former friendtigue will house a new restaurant named Broken Rocks, which is scehduled to open late summer/early fall 2007.

 

 

 

Gold Star Holding

September 2006

Gold Star Holdings filed a Community Reinvestment Area application in Septmber of 2006 for the conversion of a property located on South Market Street in Downtown Wooster. The property will house new apartments on the second and third floors and also house the expansion of the current retail space located on the first floor once the project is complete. Nearly $600,000.00 of investment will be spent at the property, which includeds entirelty new HVAC, plumbing and electrial throughout the second and third floors.

 

 

   

The Coyote Group

April 2007

 

The Coyote Group filed a Community Reinvestment Area application in August 2006 for the renovation and conversin of a property located on South Market Street in downtown Wooster. The first floors will remain retail and the second and third floors will be converted from empty storage space to loft apartments. More then $450,000.00 of investment will be undertaken on this building over the next 2 years.

   

Technigraphics

March 2008

 

In March 2008 Technigraphics Inc. announced a large expansion project at the company's headquarters in Wooster, Ohio. This expansion will include the construction of a 6 million dollar facility and the creation of 150 new full time employees in Wooster. The City Administration, Wayne Economic Development Council and State of Ohio were able to offer Technigraphics a competitive economic development assistance package for the company's commitment to this significant expansion project. A 10 year 75 % tax abatement of new real and personal property associated with this project was approved locally and considerable economic development funding were offered to the company by the state.

   
   

Westerman Companies

February 2008

 

In February 2008 Westerman Companies met with City Administration to discuss the possibility of an expansion project at their Wooster facility. The expansion project includes the construction of a 39,000 sq ft. (3 million) addition, investment of over 1 million dollars in personal property and the retention of 79 full time employees. The City Administration and City Council supported the expansion project by approving a 75% 10 year Enterprise Zone abatement of all new real and personal property associated with the project.
