Project Goals

• Develop a strong linkage between Downtown Wooster, the College of Wooster and the Beall Ave. Commercial District.
• Develop a safer and more attractive environment for the area residents, customers in the Commercial District, and students, faculty and staff within the College area.
• Provide distinguishable gateways to the College of Wooster.
• Enhance the marketability of the Beall Ave. Commercial District to attract new businesses and increase business in the existing establishments.

What is Involved?

• New curbs, sidewalks and street paving.
• Separation of storm and sanitary sewers.
• New storm drainage system.
• Removal of overhead utility lines and wood poles.
• Addition of bicycle lanes.
• Safer pedestrian crossings.
• Decorative style lights and poles (similar to Liberty St.)
• Reduction of curb cuts and driveways, resulting in safer and improved traffic
  flow.
• Landscaped median with controlled crossings in the College area.
